[6th semester, 9 week project]
[Ida Sofie Mahle]
Through a switch grip, the once static motorcycle display becomes safely adjustable, in order to fulfill dynamic and changing needs while on the road.
This project was created in partnership with Aware Moto, an IoT oriented start-up creating smart technology for motorcycles.
The process began with the question, "how can a product communicate the potential of a smart tech innovation?"

NAVIGATION
When the motorcyclist wants to navigate the screen, he or she activates the grip switch by twisting the rotator toward themselves.
The grip is formed to move naturally with the fingers movements using two buttons and a rotating switch. These switches are functional with and without gloves, and noticeable without getting in the way.
Motorcyclists want smart-tech advantages of more functions and information, without it imposing on the driving experience or on the bike's aesthetic. Shift solves this through a small display, with light-up dashboard icons surrounding the main screen.
The screen can be mounted on both the handle bar and mirror bar, although the mirror bar is recommended.
PROCESS —
Finally this was compiled into a test prototype, using a TFT LCD screen.
* Due to time restraints, this was programmed in a slightly smaller screen than what is intended in the final product.
